    Frequently Asked Questions

    What is Copper C11000 (ETP)?

Copper C11000 is Electrolytic Tough Pitch copper (~99.9% Cu with controlled oxygen) - the most-used commercial copper grade per ASTM F467 for nonferrous nut where high electrical or thermal conductivity matters. Tensile 32 ksi (annealed) to 55 ksi (cold-worked). Used for grounding bolts, busbar fasteners, and decorative applications.

Are C11000 copper bolts used structurally?

Rarely. Copper's low strength and high cost vs steel mean C11000 nut is specified almost exclusively for electrical conductivity (grounding lugs, switchgear busbars) or for matched-alloy compatibility in copper assemblies. For structural copper-alloy fastening, brass + bronze grades are the typical choice.

    Galvanic compatibility considerations?

Pair C11000 bolts with copper/brass/bronze workpieces. Avoid direct contact with aluminum (severe galvanic attack), steel (mild), and zinc-plated parts. Use insulating washers if mixed-metal connections are unavoidable.

    Available dimensional patterns?

ASME B18.2.1 hex bolts and B18.5 round head bolts are most common for grounding applications. Limited size range vs structural alloys.
