Manganese bronze C67500 is a high-tensile brass (~58 Cu, 39 Zn, 1.4 Fe, 1 Mn, 1 Al, 1 Sn) per ASTM F467 - despite the name, it's chemically a brass with the manganese + iron + aluminum additions giving steel-class strength (tensile 65-115 ksi). Used for high-load marine nut and bronze-color hardware needing high strength.
When the design needs roughly 2x the strength of C46400 naval brass while retaining bronze color + reasonable corrosion resistance. Common for high-load marine pump bolting, naval hardware, and yacht winch fasteners.
Acceptable for seawater nut but not as corrosion-resistant as true aluminum bronzes (C61300, C63000). The zinc content makes C67500 dezincification-susceptible in some conditions. Choose nickel-aluminum bronze C63000 for severe marine service.
F467 ASME B18 inch + metric range. ASME B18.2.1 hex cap screws and B16.5 flange studs are highest-volume applications.
