    Frequently Asked Questions

    What is Aluminum Bronze C61300?

Aluminum bronze C61300 is a Cu-Al-Fe alloy (~89 Cu, 7 Al, 3 Fe) per ASTM F467 - the aluminum addition forms a protective Al2O3 surface film giving excellent seawater + chloride corrosion resistance. Tensile 75-95 ksi. Stronger and more corrosion-resistant than naval brass.

How does C61300 compare to C63000?

Both are aluminum bronzes; C63000 adds nickel (4-5.5%) for additional strength + cavitation resistance. C61300 is the lower-cost aluminum bronze for general marine nut applications; C63000 is the premium choice for pump impellers, high-load marine fasteners, and severe service.

    Marine nut applications?

Heat exchanger tube-sheet nut in seawater service, marine propeller hardware, valve trim bolting, and any seawater application where naval brass is inadequate but cupro-nickel + super-duplex are overkill.

    Available dimensional patterns?

Full F467 inch + metric range. ASME B16.5 flange studs and B18.2.1 hex cap screws are the highest-volume aluminum bronze fasteners.
