    Frequently Asked Questions

    What is Phosphor Bronze C51000?

Phosphor bronze C51000 is a Cu-Sn alloy (~95 Cu, 5 Sn, 0.03-0.35 P) per ASTM F467 - the phosphorus addition acts as a deoxidizer + strength enhancer. Tensile 47-92 ksi depending on temper. Used for spring fasteners, bushing bolts, and architectural nut where moderate strength + corrosion resistance + non-magnetic properties matter.

    When use phosphor bronze bolts?

Marine nut where galvanic compatibility with bronze workpieces matters. Spring-loaded fastener applications where elastic recovery is required. Non-magnetic environments (instrumentation, magnetic shielding). Decorative nut where bronze color is desired.

    Marine performance vs naval brass?

Phosphor bronze is more corrosion-resistant than naval brass (no zinc to dezincify) but more expensive. For high-end marine nut or architectural seawater service, C51000 is the upgrade from naval brass.

    Available dimensional patterns?

Available across F467 dimensional range but less stocked than naval brass. Confirm specific sizes with TorqBolt.
